Moto G4 Play Finally Receives Android 7.1 Nougat Update

Moto G4 has it finally. While the other phones are receiving the Android Oreo update, Moto G4 Play has started receiving the update now. The updates were scheduled for last year, but it has started rolling out this year.

All the G4 branded phones from Motorola like G4, G4 Plus, G4 Play haven’t received the update. It is the only G4 play that hasn’t received any update. To recall, Motorola tried to push Android Nougat 7.1 update in the last year June, but because of some reasons, G4 Play has never got the firmware.

With the recent updates, it seems like Motorola has resolved those issues and has officially started Android 7.1.1 Nougat to the Moto G4 Play and the latest major OS update for the smartphone is now available if you are waiting for it to download and to unlock the Moto G4 devices across the world.

The total number of that own the device on Reddit have claimed that they were able to capture the update. The OTA has brought the G4 Play up to Android Nougat version of 7.1.1 and has also including the November security patch. Talking about the security patches, most of them are expected to arrive for the G4 Play.

This update is actually looking like a shocker ever since the time of launch. During the launch, Motorola has promised that the G4, G4 Plus, and G4 Play are going to be updated on Oreo. Motorola has lately revealed that they would only be upgrading the G4 Plus to Oero.

In the update plans, Motorola has to say 12 of its Moto phones will be getting a new software. These also include Moto Z, Moto Z Droid, Moto Z Force Droid, Moto Z Play, Moto Z Play Droid, Moto Z2 Force Edition, Moto Z2 Play Moto X4, Moto G5 Plus, Moto G5, and the Moto G5S Plus.
