Google has announced Android P during their Google I/O 2018 Developer Conference n May 8 i.e. Yesterday. The giant has officially released the new Android P Public Beta for Pixel phones as well as eight other smartphone brands. Yes, the new Android P Public Beta is available for non-Google based devices as well. You can install the Android P Public Beta on a respective Android device. Android P – What would it be called? 

Just like every other new Android updates, the giant has not revealed the original name of their upcoming Android Operating System. However, according to reports, the new Android Operating System would be called as Pistachio Ice Cream. This is just the assumption and not the final decided name.

The giant may keep a different name of the Android P which would be revealed during the final official stable update of the Android P Operating System. For now, the Android P is released for the testers who can test out and explore the update and its new features. New Gesture-based Navigation

According to this new system navigation, you would see a pill-shaped button which is swipable. You can simply swipe on the button from right or left and it will show up different apps and items to use. There is a combined multitasking with app drawer to view your recently used apps.

Apart from this, there will be a new smart text selection function available. This function lets you cut, copy, paste texts within the document to anywhere. You could easily view the actual meaning of a particular text just by selecting it. You don’t need to visit any other app for the same.

Adaptive Battery 

Google brings an improved battery management along with the new Android P Operating System. Adaptive Battery feature uses machine learning technology. With the help of this technology, it will figure out which app uses most of the battery. It will also figure out which apps you are going to use in the next few hours. It will then let you use the app. You can also setup timing for the apps as per your usage.

Manual Rotation 

Google has introduced a new rotation option for the users. The annoying auto-rotating function is gone now and the new Android P update brings manual rotation app. According to this new feature, users have to tap on to the rotate button to rotate the screen.

In order to rotate the screen, there will be a proper button at the upper right corner of the display. You can tap on to that button to rotate the screen as per your requirements.

New Predicted App Actions

Predicted Actions take your personal actions to a whole new level. The new Predicted Actions can show you a lot of your daily routine things on the go. You will be able to add actions within the app on your device. This actions will lets you access things quickly, you can add a particular contact, or a new app or anything to use it while exploring various things on your smartphone.

The App Actions and suggestions are based on your previous patterns used on your Smartphone. All the Google based services will show you the App Actions so it will be much more easier for the users to take actions quickly.

Adaptive Brightness

This is not a major feature announced by Google on the Android P, however it is still coming up with a lot of improvements. According to this new feature where machine learning technology is implemented. This new functionality will remember the brightness of your device which you adjust manually. It will change automatically when you take your smartphone to different lightings.

Digital Wellbeing Features

Digital Wellbeing Features on Android P looks pretty exciting and everyone will definitely going to love it. The new feature will show you an eye catchy dashboard where you can see how much time you have spend on the apps. It will also show you how many times you have unlocked your device. You can see how much time you have spend on a particular app so you can manage the timing of using those apps in the future.

You can also setup the timer for those apps and when you over cross the limit, you will be nudged and this is how you can simply avoid using the apps.

Additionally, there is a new gesture based features available named as Slush. This feature automatically put your device into Do Not Disturb mode when you turn your device on to the table. You would not be able to receive any notifications or anything disturbing when you turn your phone down.
